Rival batsmen - GA Hick {110} for Worcestershire and Lance Klusener {111} for Northamptonshire at Kidderminster on 29.06.08 provide the lone instance of rival batsmen registering hundreds in T20 games.

Incidentally, GA Hick and L Klusener were opening the innings for their respective teams, providing the only instance of rival openers registering hundreds in T20 games

There is only one instance of nine batsmen reaching double figures in an innings of a T20 game. It occurred during the Central District’s innings of 180 for 8 against Auckland at New Plymouth on 30.01.08.

There are two instances of all the eleven batsmen made single digits in an innings of a T20 game. It occurred during the Titan’s innings of 47 against Eagles at Centurion on 28.04.04 and in Tripura’s innings of 30 against Jharkhand at Dhanbad on 20.10.09

Kenya’s innings of 73 had six zeroes against New Zealand at Durban on 12.09.07 and Zimbabwe’s innings of 105 had six zeroes against West Indies at Port of Spain on 28.02.10. The games are – 17 bondarry sixes by Essex batsmen against Sussex at Chelmsford on 24.06.08, 17 boundary sixes by South Africa batsmen vs England at Centurion on 15.11.09 and 17 boundary sixes by Chennai Super Kings batsmen vs Kings Eleven Punjab at Chennai on 03.04.10. 17 boundary sixes is the most boundary sixes by a team in a T20 game. South Africa vs England game at Centurion was a T20I

31 boundary fours scored by Somerset batsmen against Glamorgan at Cardiff on 18.06.03 is the record for most boundary fours scored by a team in a T20 game

30 boundary sixes scored in the match between Chennai Super Kings vs Kings Eleven Punjab at Chennai on 03.04.10 is the record for most boundary sixes in a match {by both teams} in a T20 game

55 boundary fours scored in the match between Glamorgan and Somerset at Cardiff on 18.06.03 is the record for most boundary fours in a match {by both teams} in a T20 game

190 runs {22 fours and 17 sixes} registered by Essex against Sussex at Chelmsford on 24.06.08 is the record for most runs in an innings through boundary fours and sixes registered by a team in  T20 games.

336 runs {39 fours and 30 sixes} sixes scored in the match between Chennai Super Kings vs Kings Eleven Punjab at Chennai on 03.04.10 is the record for most boundary sixes in a match {by both teams} through boundary four and sixes in a T20 game

Only one T20I game contained two three figure partnerships in the same innings. Durham vs Leicesteshire at Chester-le-Street on 14.06.10 witnessed Durham batsmen P Mustard and ID Blackwell adding 102 runs for the first wicket and LRPL Taylor and DM Benkenstein adding 107 runs in an unfinished third wicket stand

There are thirteen instances of rival team’s batsmen posting a three figure partnerships in T20 games.

There are seven instances of “Extras” being the highest scorer in a completed innings in T20 games.  The record for highest number of Extras is 29 in West Indies innings of 131 for seven in 20 overs against South Africa at Johannesburg on 18.01.08. This is also a record in a T20 International game.

The record for most extras conceded in an innings is 40 in a T20 game - conceded by Sialkot Stallions against Lahore Eagles at Lahore on 26.04.05

The record for most extras in a match is 71. This was witnessed in the match between Sialkot Stallions vs Lahore Eagles at Lahore on 26.04.05

DJ Hussey {3192} and BJ Hodge {3077} are the only two batsmen who have an aggregate of 3000 plus runs in T20 games. BB McCullum {2695}, LRPL Taylor {2395}, HH Gibbs {2380}, OA Shah {2160}, KC Sangakkara {2138}, SB Styris {2135}, DA Warner {2096}, IJL Trott {2081}, GC Smith {2061}, ST Jayasuriya {2052} and DPMD Jaywardene {2049} are the other batsmen who have completed 2000 plus runs in T20 games

Only two batsmen have registered 150 plus runs in T20 Games. They are BB McCullum – 158 not out for Kolkata Knight Riders against Bangalore Royal Challengers at Bangalore on 18.04.08 and GR Napier – 152 not out for Essex against Sussex at Chelmsford on 24.06.08.

As many as 85 hundreds have been registered in T20 games. IJ Harvey, BB McCullum own the record for most hundreds with three hundreds, while  A Symonds, AC Gilchrist, BJ Hodge, CL White, GA Hick, H Masakadza, JHK Adams, L Vincent and SE Marsh have registered two hundreds,

Ashfaq Ahmed {99 not out for Lahore Eagles against Rawalpindi Rams at Karachi on 27.02.06}, Salman Butt {99 not out for Lahore Lions against Quetta Bears at Lahore on 04.10.08} and JP Duminy {99 no out for Cape Cobras vs Royals Challenges Banglore at Bangalore on 08.10.09 are the only three batsmen who have registered 99 not out in T20 Games, As of now there are no instances of a batsmen dismissed on 99 in T20 games.

RT Ponting has the distinction of registering the first ever ninety in T20 Internationals. He remained not out on 98 against New Zealand at Auckland on 17.02.05

T20 games have witnessed 82 instances of batsmen registering nineties. BJ Hodge, HH Gibbs, DPMD Jayawardene, LL Bosman and NK Patel are the five batsmen who have registered nineties on three occasions while JL Langer, JP Duminy, KC Sangakkara. MJ Wood and VS Solanki are the five batsmen who have registered nineties on two separate occasions.

TM Dilshan {1086 in 2009}, DJ Hussey {1079 in 2010}, DPMD Jayawardene {1051 in 2010}, DA Warner {1024 in 2010} and JP Duminy {1019 in 2009} are the five batsmen who have aggregated of 1000 runs in a calendar year in T20 games.

CL White’s 141 not out for Somerset against Worcestershire at Worcester on 09.07.06 remains the highest individual score in a losing cause in T20 games. Chris Gayle’s 117 for West Indies against South Africa at Johannesburg on 11.09.07 remains the highest individual score in a losing cause in T20 Internationals.

As many as sixteen hundreds – including the two hundreds by CL White and Chris Gayle – have gone in vain in T20 games.

IJL Trott with 1054 runs at Edgbaston is the only in T20 games who have an aggregate of 1000 plus runs at a specific ground.

CL White’s 141 not out for Somerset against Worcestershire at Worcester on 09.07.06 remains the highest individual score by a captain in T20 games. Apart from this, there are nine instance of a captain registering a hundred in T20 games.

T20 games have witnessed as many as fifties hundreds scored by captains. CL White and H Masakadza are the captains in T20 games to register two separate hundreds. CL White scored 141 not out for Somerset against Worcestershire at Worcester on 09.07.06 and 116 not out for Somerset against Gloucestershire at Taunton on 27.06.06. H Masakadza scored 102 for Mountaineers against Rocks at Harare on 15.02.10 and 101* for Easterns vs Westerns at Harare on 19.03.09.

T20 games have witnessed twelve instances of a captain registering nineties. VS Solanki of Worcestershire and NK Patel of Gujarat have the distinction of registering two separate nineties. Ricky Ponting of Australia who scored 98 not out in the first ever T20 International at Auckland on 21.02.05 and U Afzaal who also made 98 not out for Surrey against Middlesex at Lord’s on 25.05.09 have the highest individual score among the batsmen who have registered nineties in T20 games

SR Tendulkar with 618 runs in IPL 2010 has the distinction of scoring 500 plus runs in a series, while AC Gilchrist with 495 runs in IPL 2009 has the distinction of scoring most runs by a wicket keeper batsman in a series. Incidentally, Gilchrist has doubled up as captain when he made 495 runs in IPL 2009

Moin Khan {112 for Karachi Dolphins against Lahore Lions at Lahore on 25.04.05} and AC Gilchrist {109 not out for Hyderabad against Mumbai at Mumbai on 27.04.08 and 106 for Middlesex against Kent at Canterbury on 11.06.10} are the only two wicket keeper batsmen who have registered hundreds in T20 games. Moin Khan’s 112 remains the highest individual score by a wicket keeper batsmen in T20 games, AC Gilchrist remains the only wicket keeper batsman to register two hundreds in T20 games

NV Ojha. PD McGlashan, KC Sangakkara {twice}, AB de Villers, ADS Fletcher and Bazid Khan are the six wicket keeper batsmen who have registered nineties in T20 games.

Moin Khan’ with his 112 for Karachi Dolphins against Lahore Lions at Lahore on 25.04.05 and PA Reddy with 105 not out for Hyderabad against Mumbai at Indore on 13.03.10 are the two batsmen in T20 games to register a hundred on T20 debut.

CKB Kulashekhara. BJ Hodge, A Symonds, CK Kapugedera, P McGlashan, BS Wilson and JL Langer are the seven batsmen who have registered nineties on debut in T20 games

IJ Harvey, BB McCullum own the record for most hundreds with three hundreds, while  A Symonds, AC Gilchrist, BJ Hodge, CL White, GA Hick, H Masakadza, JHK Adams, L Vincent and SE Marsh have registered two hundreds,

BJ Hodge remains the only batsman to score 20 plus fifties in T20 games – 23 to be exact. DJ Hussey {18}, HD Ackerman {17}, JH Kallis {17}, BB McCullum {17}, HH Gibbs {17}, KC Sangakkara {16}, G Gamhir {15}, LRPL Taylor {15}, M van Jaarsveld {15} are the other batsmen who have scored 15 or more fifties in T20I games.

BJ Hodge remains the only batsman to score 20 plus half centuries in T20 games – 21 to be exact. DJ Hussey {17}, HD Ackerman {17}, JH Kallis {17}, HH Gibbs {16}, KC Sangakkara {16}, G Gamhir {15} and M van Jaarsveld {15} are the other batsmen who have scored 15 or more half centuries in T20I games.

A Symonds has the distinction of registering the fastest hundred in terms of balls. He scored the fastest hundred in 34 balls while batting for Kent against Middlesex at Maidstone in 2004.

JL Denly of Kent, LA Carseldine of Queensland and ME Tresothick of Somerset are the three batsmen who have registered most consecutive fifties – four – in T20 games.

Yuvraj Singh has the distinction of registering the fastest fifty in T20 games. He scored the fastest fifty in 12 balls while batting for India against England at Durban on 19.09.07.

BJ Hodge {61} and SB Styris {56 matches} are the two batsmen in T20 games who have scored a duck after appearing in 50 plus T20 games.

C Ganapathy of Tamilnadu and S Shillingford of Dominica {two games} and Windward Islands {two games} are the two batsmen who have scored four consecutive ducks in one day games.

HH Gibbs {15}, MJ Lumb {13} and DJ Hussey {11} are the three batsmen who have collected ten or more ducks in T20 games. HH Gibbs with 15 ducks holds the record for most ducks by a batsman in T20 games.

EC Joyce has the distinction of scoring first zero of T20 games. He failed to open his account in the game between Surrey and Middlesex at The Oval on 13.06.03. He was caught by wicket keeper Batty of the bowling of Ormond of the very first ball he faced. In other words, he collected the first ball duck.  In the same game, two more batsmen – SJ Cook and TM Bloomfield – also collected their first ball ducks.

LRPL Taylor {147}, DJ Hussey {142}, BB McCullum {115}, ST Jayasuriya {100} and SB Styris (100} are the five batsmen who have an aggregate of 100 plus boundary sixes in T20 games. LRPL Taylor with 147 sixes leads the table.

GR Napier {16}, BB McCullum {13}, ST Jayasuriya {11}, M Vijay {11}, CH Gayle {10}, AC Gilchrist {10} and SD Chitnis {10} are the sevn batsmen who have hit ten or more sixes in an innings in T20 games. GR Napier of Essex with his 16 sixes in the game against Sussex at Chelmsford on 24.06.08 holds the record for most sixes in an innings.

BJ Hodge {334}, BB McCullum {271}, GC Smith {251} and MJ Lumb {250} are the four batsmen who have scored 250 plus boundary fours in T20 games. BJ Hodge with 334 boundary fours leads the table and remains the only batsman to aggregate 300 plus boundary fours

GR Napier {10 fours and 16 sixes – 136 runs}, BB McCullum {10 fours and 13 sixes – 118 runs} and ST Jayasuriya {09 fours and 11 sixes – 102 runs} are the only three batsmen who have an aggregate runs of 100 plus through boundary fours and sixes in T20 games. GR Napier holds the record with 136 runs {10 fours and 16 sixes}.

S Rodrigo with 16 not out in a total of 85 {Ragama vs Bloomfield at Col-Moors on 08,10,05}, CH Gayle with 63 not out in a total of 101 {West Indies vs Sri Lanka at The Oval on 19.06.09}, AS Kyobe with 51 not out in a total of 109 {Uganda vs Scotland at Nairobi {Gym} on 31.01.10 are the three batsman who have carried the bat through a completed innings in T20 games.

Ahmed Hayat {Wolves vs K Dolphins at Lahore on 30.04.05}, GARC Perera {Basnahira S vs Wayamba at Col-SSC on 05.04.09} are the two batsmen who were dismissed “Obstructing the field” in T20 games, while Shahid Afridi was “retired out” in the game between Pakistanis and Northants at Northampton on 03.07.10. These three dismissals constitute “the unusal dismissals” in T20 games

DP Nannes {120}, Yasir Arafat {103} and JA Morkel {100} are the three bowlers who have an aggregate of 100 plus wickets in T20 Games. DP Nannes with 120 wickets holds the record for most wickets in T20 games.

Sohail Tanvir with 6 for 14 has the best figures in T20 games. He achieved this figure while playing for Rajasthan against Chennai at Jaipur on 04.05.08. Apart from Sohail Tanvir, SR Abeywardene, AJ Hall, T Murtagh, Irfanuddin, MG Dighton and IG Butler are the other bowlers who have captured six wickets in T20 games.

KA Pollard {59 wkts in 2010} and DP Nannes {57 wkts in 2010} are the two bowlers who have aggregated 500 plus wickets in a calendar year. KA Pollard holds the record for most wickets in a calendar year.

NM Carter of Warwickshire with 42 wickets at Edgbaston, Birmingham holds the record for most wickets on a single ground in T20 games.

SB Bangar’s 5 for 16 for Railways against Rajasthan at Jaipur on 06.04.07 remains the best figures by a captain in T20 games. Apart from SB Bangar, LAS Sebastian, AJ Hollioake, Shoaib Akthar, A Jacobs and Imran Farhat are the bowlers who have captured five wickets while leading their sides.

T20 games have witnessed twentyfive instances of captains capturing four or more wickets in a game. A Kumble, AJ Hollioake, E Chigumbura and Yousuf Pathan are the four captains to have captured four more wickets on two occasions.

Irfanuddin {6 for 25 for Karachi Dolphins against Sialkot Stallions at Karachi on 03.03.06} and MG Dighton {6 for 25 for Tasmania against Queensland at Toowoomba on 01.06.07} are the only two bowlers to have captured most wickets - six - in a losing cause in T20 Games.

AJ Hall, AJ Hollioake, DMGS Dissanayake and J Allenby are the four bowlers who have captured five or more wickets on two occasions in T20 games.

Umar Gul {07}, E Chigumbura {05}, CK Langveldt {05}, Yasir Arafat {05}, DP Nannes {05} are the five bowlers in T20 games who have captured four or more wickets on five plus occasions. Umar Gul with seven four or more wicket hauls owns the record for most number of occasions of a bowler capturing four or more wickets in T20 games

AJ Holliioake of Surrey, GB Hogg of Warwickshire, BJ Phillips of Northants, Mohd Asif of Sialkot Stallions, ND Doshi of Surrey, YK Pathan of Baroda, AG  Botha of Derbyshire, E Chigumbura of Zimbabwe and Northerns, BAW Mendis of Sri Lanka, SB Jakati of Chennai Super Kings, Aizaz Cheema of Lahore Lions and LJ Cush of Guyana are the twelve bowlers who have captured four or more wickets in consecutive matches.

RJ Kirtley with his 4.0-0-67-0 for Sussex against Essex at Chelmsford on 24.06.08 and PKKK Naidu with his 4.0-0-67-1 for Hyderabad against Mumbai at Indore on 13.03.10 jointly share the records for most expensive bowling in terms of runs conceded in T20 games. Apart from RJ Kirtley and PKKK Naidu, there are seventeen other bowlers who have conceded 60 plus runs in T20 games.

SJ Benn {07}, D du Preez {06}, T Henderson {06}, AD Mascarenhas {06}, DD Masters {06} and AC Thomas {06} are the six bowlers who have bowled six or more maiden overs in their T20 career.

MG Dighton of Tasmania has returned with the best bowling figures on T20 debut. He captured six for 25 against Queensland at Toowoomba on 01.06.07

DMGS Dassanayake, J Alenby, AJ Hollioake and AJ Hall are the only four bowlers who have captured five plus wickets on two occasions in T20 games.

There are 35 instances of a bowler performing a Hat trick in T20 games. AD Mascarenhas was the first bowler to perform the Hattrick in T20 games. Representing Hampshire, he achieved the feat against Sussex at Hove in 2004. Bret Lee and JDP Oram are the two bowlers to perform the Hattrick in T20 Internationals. B Lee achieved the feat against Bangladesh at Capetown in 2007 while JDP Oram achieved the feat against Sri Lanka at Col-RPS on 02.09.09. Yuvraj Singh of Kings Eleven Punjab and LJ Cush of Guyana are the two bowlers who have performed the feat on two occasions

Apart from holding the record for most expensive bowling in terms of runs with his figures of 4.0-0-67-0, RJ Kirtley also halds the most expensive bowling figures without a wicket. Apart from RJ Kirtley who has conceded 60 plus runs without a wicket, there are eight other bowlers who have conceded 60 plus runs without a wicket.

Kamran Akmal holds the record for most dismissals by a wicket keeper in T20 games. He has effected 84 dismissals {39 ct plus 45 st}, AC Gilchrist {67 – 48ct plus 19st}  MN van Wyk {61 – 47ct plus 14st} and KC Sangakkara {60 – 39ct plus 21st} are the other three wicket keepers to effect 60 or more dismissals in T20 games.

AC Gilchrst with 48 catches to his credit holds the record of most catches held by a wicket keeper in T20 games. MH van Wyk {47} and PA Nixon {40} are the other two wicket keeper to pouch 40 plus catches

Kamran Akmal holds the record for most stumpings in T20 games. He has effected 45 stumping dismissals. JS Foster {29} BJM Scott {27}, NJ O’Brien {25} are the other wicket keepers who have effected 25 or more stumpings in T20 games.

EFMU Fernando of Lankan CC has the record for most dismissals behind the wicket in T20 games. He effected seven dismissals – all caught – against Moores at Col-Bloomfield on 09.10.05. MN van Wyk [twice}, TL Tsolekile, Khalid Mahmood, MJ Prior, KD Karthik, SKL de Silva, GL Brophy and DC de Boorder are the other wicket keepers who have effected five dismissals in T20 games.

DJ Hussey {67}, HH Gibbs {54} and M van Jaarsveld {53} are the three fieldsmen {excluding wicket keepers} to pouch 50 plus catches in T20 games.  DJ Hussey with 67 catches to his credit holds the record for most catches in T20 games.

186 runs partnership for the second wicket between JL Langer and CL White for Somerset against Gloucestershire at Taunton on 27.06.06 remains the highest three figure partnership in T20 games. Apart from this stand, there are twenty one partnerships of 150 plus runs in T20 games.

Cardiff was hosting its first ever T20I. It became the 43^rd ground in the history of T2OI to host a T20 game. It also became the seventh ground to host a T20I in England. Pakistan’s 126 for 4 in 20.0 overs represent its lowest score while batting in a T20I game.

In Pakistan’s innings four batsmen – Shahzaib Hasan {21}, Mohamad Yousuf {26}, Fawad Alam {20} and Umar Akmal {34} - scored 20 plus runs providing the ninth occasion of four Pakistan batsmen scoring 20 plus runs in a T20I innings. This occasion also provide the sixth such occasion against England in a T20I innings.

England’s squad contained two specialist wicket keepers in C Kieswetter and SM Davies, but the latter kept wickets in this game. The former has kept wickets for England in seven T20I games.

EJG Morgan and MH Yardy added 67 runs for the sixth wicket in an unfinished stand in this game providing the 254^th occasion of batsmen posting 50 plus runs partnership in T20I games.
