Kamran Akmal finished the ICC World T20 games with 58 dismissals in T20 games. He equaled the existing record held by MH van Wyk who also has 58 dismissals to his credit.

Kamran Akmal’s 58 dimissals include 26 catches and 32 stumping, while MH van Wyk’s 58 dismissals comprises of 44 catches and 14 stumpings. Kamran Akmal achieved another milestone in ICC World T20 finals. It was his 50th T20 game appearance.

Umar Gul of Pakistan and JA Morkel of South Africa had an aggregate of 78 T20 wickets at the end of the ICC World T20 finals. They share the second place in the list of most wicket takers in T20 games. T Henderson holds the record for most wickets in T20 games with 78 wickets as on 21.06.09. Another Pakistan bowler – Yasir Arafat had an aggregate of 70 T20 wickets. Only these four bowlers have an aggregate of 70 plus wickets in T20 games.

TM Dilshan finished with an aggregate of 944 runs in the calendar year 2009. He is the second batsman to have an aggregate of 900 plus runs in a calendar year. SE Marsh had scored 951 runs in 2008 which is a record for most runs in a calendar year in T20 games. TM Dilshan failed to improve SE Marsh’s aggregate by seven runs. He made zero in the finals of ICC World T20 game.

Yuvraj Singh {73}, BB McCullum {73}, ST Jayasuriya {72} and LPRL Taylor {71} finished behind DJ Hussey’s record aggregate of 87 sixes in T20 games at the end of finals of ICC World T20 games

GC Smith became the second batsman in T20 games to have an aggregate of 200 plus boundary fours at the end of finals of ICC World Two games. He has an aggregate of 218 boundary fours. The record for most boundary fours in T20 games is held by BJ Hodge who has 249 boundary fours to his credit.

Pakistan entered the Finals of the ICC World T20 for the second time. They were the finalists in the first edition also. They beat South Africa by 12 runs in the first semi finals.

JH Kallis’s 64 represent the 16th occasion of batsman’s fifty in a losing cause and the first by a South African batsman in ICC World T20 games.
