Portland Trail Blazers guard Rodney Hood exited their 100-96 series-clinching Game 7 win over the Denver Nuggets midway through the third quarter with what the team termed a hyperextended left knee.

Had you told me after being swept by the New Orleans Pelicans in the first round of the NBA Playoffs a year ago that the Portland Trail Blazers would be facing off against the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals this season, I would've laughed you out of the room. McCollum scored 20 points in the second half and hit three crucial mid-range jumpers in the fourth quarter to keep Portland in control of the game.

But on the other hand, Hood wasn't immediately sure if he'd be able to play Tuesday night, when the Blazers and Warriors open a best-of-seven series at Oracle Arena.

"It was a tough game, we had our chances", Jokic said.

The Nuggets wasted a wonderful opportunity in game six, but the mood remained upbeat in advance of the May 12 contest.

Oh and you know my favorite play was that chase down block! We beat San Antonio in seven games, it was a really tough series against Portland today.

But the Trail Blazers only got 32 points from the rest of their lineup and might need someone to step up Sunday.

He finished with 33 points in the half/game, and it was clear that both he and Klay were the two best players on the floor. Fast forward to this season, in which the Rockets beat Golden State three out of four times in the regular season.

"I am just asking the guys who are going to come next year to come better and prepare to do bigger things", he said.

Before that, James took a shot at basketball analytics, which have been the underpinning for an NBA revolution in which teams are increasingly eschewing midrange jump shots in favor of three-pointers or shots at the rim. Just two dogs who have proven they can put the squad on their back and will a victory.

The Nuggets raced to a 39-22 lead and Game 7 was beginning to look a lot like Game 5, when Denver blew out Portland by 26 points in this building.

However, coach Michael Malone didn't agree.

"We'll see how it feels tomorrow and the next day", Hood told reporters after the game. "For him to be as emotional and upset as he was speaks to his caring".
