Amazon's Fire 7 tablet gets an under-the-hood upgrade

Oddly, battery life isn't as stellar as it once was, with Amazon promising seven-hours compared to eight, but the device does retain the same £49.99 price-tag as its predecessor.

"For under £50, we're making it even better for customers with a faster processor and 2x the base storage, so customers can enjoy even more of their favourite entertainment at home and on- the-go".

The upside is that Alexa can now be triggered more easily on the Fire 7, as you just need to shout out the digital assistant's name. That last spec, in our experience, has meant frustrating performance issues (not just on this tablet, but on anything with 1GB of RAM) and it's a major reason we more aggressively recommend Amazon's $79 8-inch model, which has 1.5GB of RAM. Reading a book, watching a movie, or simply browsing the web is absolutely possible, while the Fire 7 tablet will drag its foot in anything more demanding than that. The Fire 7 tablet comes in 4 colors: Black, Plum, Sage, and Twilight Blue.

Chris Attoh's wife shot dead in America
Attoh had tied the knot with Jenifer previous year after breaking up with Damilola Adegbite, a Nigerian actress. It was alleged that they had broken up but neither of the two has publicly confirmed or denied the story.

Fast Wi-Fi connectivity-Dual-band Wi-Fi support for seamless video streaming. Amazon says it is twice as durable as iPad mini. Probably the most important (and most advertised) new feature is the hands-free Alexa integration.

The price doubles to $100 for the Kids Edition version of the Fire 7 tablet, but it includes the case, a year of Amazon's FreeTime Unlimited - access to books, audible books, apps, games and videos, along with parental controls - and a two-year guarantee that Amazon will replace the tablet if your child breaks it. Anyone that purchases before the June 6 ship date will also receive a $10 credit that can be used in the Amazon Appstore.

The new Amazon Fire 7 Kids Edition is also available to pre-order from today (May 16), hits stores on June 6, and it comes in Blue, Pink and Purple colors. It too will be released on the sixth day of next month.
