Zidane again refused to confirm whether Gareth Bale would be a Madrid player next season, with rumours the Wales global will leave refusing to go away - while he dismissed suggestions the ex-Tottenham man could not play alongside Hazard.

Relegation-threatened Rayo Vallecano should not have been awarded their match-winning penalty in Sunday's LaLiga clash with Real Madrid, says AS' resident referee, former Federation Internationale de Football Association official Eduardo Iturralde González.

"Bale is happy, he has had minutes with me", he said.

The theme continued when Zidane was asked if Hazard and Gareth Bale would be compatible.

The defeat keeps Zinedine Zidane's men on 65 points with three matches to play while Rayo moved up to 19th place with 31 points. I'm not going to say any more because I'm not in charge of that, it's an agreement between Real Madrid and Rayo and it has to be respected. "We'll have to see how we do things, but our idea is to bolster our attacking options". Then we will see.

Virgil van Dijk beats Raheem Sterling to Player of the Year crown
Van Dijk didn't have the disadvantage of playing in the World Cup, which is exhausting and very hard the following season. It's not too shocking to hear that Lineker, a former striker, has gone for the attacking player this year.

Manchester United do not want to sell but it has been claimed that the midfielder is trying to push the club to let him leave at the end of the current campaign.

"I am clear about what I want do and the profile of the players I want", Zidane added. He's won everything a player could win playing for Los Merengues and would reportedly welcome a change of scenery but since he is under contract until 2022, Madrid will have the final saying on whether he stays or leaves the club.

Rayo's talisman Raúl de Tomás is now on loan from Sunday's opponents, and won't be able to face his parent club due to a clause in his contract.

Benzema joins Sergio Ramos, Alvaro Odriozola on Madrid's injury list, with teenager attacker Vinicius Junior also not yet ready to return.
