Michael Cummins was named a person of interest and after a manhunt he was caught and is now in TBI custody.

Four of the bodies were found in one home, while the fifth victim was found in another home. They believe the target was random and the victim was not related to the other five.

Authorities say a sixth body has been found in a residence in rural Tennessee, bringing the death toll at two area homes to seven. Authorities have not released any details about the victims.

Another body was found Saturday at another home in the area.

The bodies of four people and one injured person were found by authorities after a 911 call Saturday to a house about an hour northeast of Nashville, near the Kentucky state line. The injured victim was transported to the hospital with unspecified injuries. They also have not said what kind of weapon was used.

A family friend identified three of the deceased victims as relatives of Cummins: David and Clara Cummins, the mother and father of the suspect, as well as Charlie Hosale, Cummins' uncle.

Police vehicles on Sunday blocked access to roads outside the homes.

Cummins, 25, was identified as a suspect and was found by a search plane in a creek bed about a mile from the first home.

On Saturday, DeVine said at least one officer fired at Cummins after he emerged from the woods.

DeVine says TBI will investigate the homicides and the officer-involved shooting. No officers were injured in the arrest effort.
