The Huawei P30 Pro packs some impressive camera technology, with a 5x periscope zoom camera being one of the biggest improvements. We got the opportunity to have a look at the Aurora and Breathing Crystal colourways, but there will also be "Amber Sunrise", and for those who prefer things a little more understated - standard black.

In addition to improving photo quality, Huawei's keynote also focused on the video capabilities of the P30 Pro. This year also sees the introduction of a "dewdrop" notch - this sits in the middle of the top of the screen and is created to use as little as possible of the screen space.

Powering the hardware is the same Kirin 980 chipset already present inside the Huawei Mate 20 Pro, meaning the new device should deliver similarly rapid performance.

The Huawei P30 is priced at €799 and that gets you 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

Huawei has earned a bad reputation of using misleading photos in its marketing again and again, but DxOMark tested the smartphone and gave it a best-ever overall score of 112.

This sensor is optically stabilized (OIS) and packs AIS (AI stabilization) as well to offer a primary camera that's capable of capturing some extraordinary detail and bright images, even at night. A 3,650mAh battery powers the phone and supports 22.5W Huawei Super Charge. The P30 Pro also supports 15W fast wireless charging and reverse wireless charging, much like the Mate 20 Pro. The great news is that all P30 Pro pre-order deals come with a free, superb Sonos One speaker worth around £200 to sweeten this release even further. For the whole pre-order period you can get yourself a £40 card with any P30 Pro deal from Carphone - just be sure to click the "View deal" button below to be eligible to claim.

Man who sent pipe bombs to CNN, prominent Democrats pleads guilty
The bombs began turning up weeks before the hotly contested midterms, contributing to an already tense political environment. The change-of-plea hearing was revealed last week after a phone conference between prosecutors, Sayoc's lawyers and a judge.

The new phones, of which there are expected to be at least two, could feature four rear cameras for the first time, with Huawei teasing a powerful zoom feature in promotional tweets for the event. Gone is the dedicated monochrome sensor camera as found on the P20 Pro, which some people will be sorry to see go - but it was felt that the wide-angle lens was more popular.

On the videography front, the Huawei P30 phones come with a Dual-View Video mode that is created to record wide-angle and closeup view simultaneously.

The P30 Pro comes packed with AI and HDR+ technology, using which you can capture "Super Portrait Mode" photos with enormous details - down to the strands of hair on the subject's face. The new Huawei P30 Pro and P30 are going on sale today in select markets.

This could suggest that it will be launching wireless earbuds for the P30 handsets.

Huawei also unveiled the FreeBuds earbuds with a design similar to Apple's AirPods These earbuds come with 12 hours of battery life through their available case and have an IPX4-rated water and dust resistant build.
