"Mr. Ronaldo has always maintained, as he does today, that what occurred in 2009 in Las Vegas was consensual in nature", Ronaldo's lawyer Peter Christiansen wrote in a statement in October.

The police investigation was reopened at Mayorga's request last August, shortly before the former model and schoolteacher filed a civil lawsuit in state court claiming that Ronaldo raped her and that she had been paid $375,000 to keep it secret.

A statement issued Thursday by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirmed that the warrant has been sent to authorities in Italy, where the five-time Ballon d'Or victor plays for league leaders Juventus.

Investigations are still going on the allegations that Ronaldo allegedly assaulted Kathryn Mayorga in America even though the Portuguese has denied what he was accused of.

Ronaldo doesn't deny that he and Mayorga had sex.

Lennard-who is a model as well as a reality television regular, appearing in shows like Make Me a Supermodel and Celebrity Big Brother-stated that she has years of messages that would back up her claims that Ronaldo was abusive and that he was unrepentant about his behavior, both with her and with other women.

John Legend did not hold back last night on Twitter when he explained his decision to participate in Lifetime's Surviving R. And while viewers were left reeling, series creator Dream Hampton teased the upcoming final two installments via Twitter .

Nike, which has had a contract with Ronaldo since 2003, said at the time it was "deeply concerned by the disturbing allegations" and would "continue to closely monitor the situation".

A key piece of evidence in the investigation is a dress from the night in question nine years ago.

Authorities in Las Vegas would then determine whether it matches genetic material found on Mayorga's dress.

On the same day Mayorga says she was raped, she went to the police to report it and had a rape kit done.

Inside the document, Cristiano Ronaldo was said to have offered Kathryn Mayorga £287,000 for her not to speak about anything that happened between the two of them in Las Vegas.
