Keller @ Large: Here’s What Elizabeth Warren Will Be Exploring

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) announced an intention to run for president in 2020 on Monday morning - and she's already receiving some support from Hollywood's more outspoken liberal celebrities.

The Massachusetts progressive said in a New Years Eve email and video message to supporters that she's launching an exploratory committee for a presidential run, which would give her a potential early edge in fundraising and organization.

"I've spent my career getting to the bottom of why America's promise works for some families, but others, who work just as hard, slip through the cracks into disaster", she said in a video. Billionaires and big corporations decided they wanted more of the pie, and they enlisted politicians to cut 'em a fatter slice. And Warren's gender identity as a woman won't rack up enough intersectionality points against Kamala Harris, the half-black, half-Indian female senator from California. Most voters will likely be surprised to learn she's only eight years younger than Sanders.

"No matter where you live in America or no matter where your family came from in the world, you deserve a path to opportunity", Warren continues in the new political video.

With former Gov. Deval Patrick's withdrawal from consideration, Warren is the only potential candidate from MA.

Elizabeth Warren is this close to running.

Trump disparaged Warren's Native American heritage, which she can trace through DNA back six to ten generations, by calling her "Pocahontas".

Warren wrote a letter marking Pride Month in 2017, in which she said: "Every year [at Boston Pride] I dance!"

In January 2017, Trump signed an executive order that initiated the process of building a wall along the US-Mexico border. The border agents later had to clean the boy's vomit, but the father "declined further medical assistance" for the boy.

CNN then showed a poll they had conducted were she ranked seven out of ten among other Democrats who could potentially run for president in 2020. They are separate and intentionally different than filing one's candidacy and common early on in presidential primaries.

Warren, an architect of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau set up after the 2008 financial crisis, has been a strong voice in the US Senate on financial issues.

Warren grew up in a working-class family.

Assuming that Trump's reelection quest could go either way, I think he would profit marginally from facing Warren.

When Trump offered to donate $1 million to Warren's favorite charity if she took a test proving "you're an Indian", she eventually did so, hoping to put an end to his ridicule.

There is only a passing reference to President Donald Trump and his administration in Warren's new video. In the first TV ad of her 2012 Senate campaign, in November 2011, she said, "Washington is still rigged for the big guys, and that's got to change".

"Using a DNA test to lay claim to any connection to the Cherokee Nation or any tribal nation, even vaguely, is inappropriate and wrong", Hoskin said in a statement. But Democrats saw in 2016 what can happen when 6 in 10 Americans dislike their nominee, and that's a distinct possibility with Warren in 2020.
