She took the 1973 Miss Universe title, alongside the Miss Photogenic title.

That slow-motion twirl wasn't the only way that Miss Philippines, a.k.a. the newly crowned Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray, turned heads at the 67th Miss Universe pageant competition on Monday in Bangkok.

Miss Philippines Catriona Gray, 24, was crowned the 2018 Miss Universe on Sunday at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani in Thailand.

Gray wore a sparkling red dress as she was handed the crown to the delight of a roaring crowd that generally favored Southeast Asian contestants.

We know that all throughout the whole competition, she dedicated so much effort into representing the Philippines in everything she wore-from the gowns and national costumes down to the accessories that she designed herself-all bearing symbolisms relating to the Philippines.

The 2017 victor, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, from South Africa, crowned the new Miss Universe.

With her win, Gray becomes the fourth Filipina to bring the crown home.

The Miss World organization also congratulated her for her win and said that Miss Universe has "a great victor".

Speaking to reporters, Gray shared that her mother had predicted her victory. Officials of the Bb.

Salvador Panelo, spokesman for President Rodrigo Duterte, said her win would put the country on the world map for its "beauty and elegance".

When it was time for the final question during the Miss Universe Pageant, Gray was asked, "What is the most important lesson you've learned in your life and how would you apply it to your time as Miss Universe?".

"I don't need to win Miss Universe, I just need to be here", Ponce said in Spanish in a pre-taped segment shown live during the telecast.

Catriona Gray, who was seen to have slayed both the swimsuit and evening gown competitions in the preliminaries, seems intensely firm, fixed, and unswerving in wearing that coveted crown.

The finale was again hosted by Steve Harvey who infamously announced the wrong victor in the 2015 contest.
