When it comes to software, both run Android 9 Pie with Oxygen OS 9 - the McLaren Edition gets some new wallpapers and orange theme highlights, but it otherwise the same.

The McLaren Edition of the OnePlus 6T (review) has a couple of things worth pointing out. It features a carbon-fiber texture under its rear glass and an orange lining which shines when viewed from different angles. This exact material goes in the MCL33 2018. The OnePlus logo is placed just the below the camera module, while towards the bottom is the McLaren logo. Encased in the box is McLaren's logo, the iconic Speedmark, recreated in McLaren-designed F1 AA grade carbon fibre.

As with the regular 6T, the McLaren Edition has an in-display fingerprint reader, where pressing against the screen unlocks the handset. It has inked a partnership with McLaren to launch the OnePlus 6T McLaren edition and is introducing not only new looks, but new hardware features.

This next-generation device is being launched in collaboration with McLaren with it, to the world at the F1 team's headquarters in Woking. The Indian venue of launch is at Richardson and Cruddas, Byculla, Mumbai. The company will be live streaming the launch event of the flagship smartphone tonight on YouTube and several other social media platforms. This should provide plenty of power for multitasking, on top of the beefy Snapdragon 845 processor that also sits in the original flagship. The McLaren Edition will be the most expensive phone ever released by OnePlus.

The device will be available in North America and Western Europe from December 13th. The device retails for GBP 649 (INR 58,800 approx.) in the UK. The phone will launch in Europe and in the USA on December 13 and will retail at £649 or $699.

The McLaren Edition will be very limited in quantity, so get it while it's still on sale.

The McLaren 6T is also speedier in getting back to full strength, thanks to OnePlus' new standard Warp Charge 30, which is supposed to give you "a day's power" in 20 minutes. That's according to OnePlus CEO Pete Lau, who shared the news in an interview with PCMag. OnePlus has finally bumped up its charging tech with a new Warp Charge 30.

The Warp Charge 30 charger is bundled with the phone, and being a part of McLaren Edition, it has a Papaya Orange cable.
