PSG's night then got even worse as fellow star forward Mbappe picked up what appeared to be a very painful shoulder injury as France took on Uruguay in their friendly at the Stade de France.

"A 48-hour period of treatment will be undertaken to assess their clinical evolution", PSG said.

The Paris St-Germain player was substituted after tweaking his groin as he shot at goal with seven minutes gone in the global match at Milton Keynes in England.

After rushing through on goal Mbappe jumped over 'keeper Martin Campana but landed awkwardly on his right shoulder, with Florian Thauvin taking his place on 36 minutes.

Brazil's Neymar leaves the pitch after sustaining an injury as Brazil coach Tite looks on.

"He felt some discomfort in the groin region and left [the pitch] complaining about that discomfort", Rodrigo Lasmar told Sportv.

Cigar-Shaped Object May Have Been Alien Spacecraft, Researchers Claim
Astronomers originally thought the flattened, stadium-sized object was a comet or asteroid that came from our own solar system. For the first time, a mysterious space object "Omului" was seen at the end of 2017.

Both players underwent medical examinations with PSG on Wednesday and the French champions have confirmed Neymar sustained a "right adductor strain", while Mbappe suffered a "bruised right shoulder".

These troubles have been further compounded by events in France, as Kylian M'bappe was forced off with an injury in a friendly against Uruguay.

PSG now sit third in Group C, just one point behind second-placed Liverpool.

The player himself said in a message posted on Instagram: "Thanks to everyone who sent me messages wishing a good recovery, I think it was nothing serious".

Everton forward Richarlison scored the only goal of the game just before half time to keep Brazil's flawless record after the World Cup and ensure they end the year on a high.

While PSG can afford to do without both in Ligue Un, they could need Neymar and M'bappe for their critical showdown with Liverpool at the Parc Des Princes next Wednesday evening.
