People searching for the latest news on the TV personality, who found herself at the center of a controversy Tuesday for defending blackface while discussing controversial Halloween costumes (she later apologized), have been misspelling her name when searching for her, according to Google Trends. They haven't made an official announcement about the show, but everyone knows what it means when they're being moved somewhere else. In the almost-two years Kelly was at NBC - 13 of which she spent hosting the 9 a.m. hour of Today, rebranded as Megyn Kelly Today - she came under fire for going soft on world leaders, insulting celebrities, enabling hate-mongers, and more.

According to a source close to the situation who spoke to Hollywood Reporter, Kelly finds it questionable that NBC aired an episode of a Real Housewives of NY cast member wearing blackface, when she has faced such severe backlash for her defense of blackface for Halloween costumes. "That was OK when I was a kid, as long as you were dressing like a character".

Two sources told People magazine that Kelly has not been fired from NBC entirely but that her 9 a.m. show is likely over. Another source said Kelly is loved by NBC talent and the network's crew, and a third source said that NBC has "approached" her.

The 47-year-old journalist and commentator landed in hot water earlier this week when she defended the use of blackface as a Halloween costume.

She opened Wednesday's show by saying she was wrong and sorry for what she said.

Megyn Kelly's original comments about blackface which aired on the Tuesday edition of Megyn Kelly Today.

Before Brunt won her over, Kelly was married to Dr. Dan Kendall from 2001 to 2006. While she was at Fox News, Kelly was repped by the UTA-owned N.S. Bienstock agency before signing with CAA ahead of her multi-million dollar NBC News deal in 2017.

According to insider sources, Kelly is now negotiating with the NBC over a possible exit deal.

Kelly did not respond to an email request seeking comment.

"The fact is, she owes a bigger apology to folks of color around the county", he said, as reported by The Hill. "Megyn Kelly became the star of the 2016 election in the media because she was the one person on Fox News who was willing to call out Trump and willing to call out Roger Ailes".

"They're contacting the staff and reassigning everyone today", the source tells the outlet. Her remarks tapped into a painful vein of American racial history that Kelly said in an apology she was only now fully realizing. They were hoping to bring some of her popularity.
