Novak Djokovic of Serbia celebrates match point against John Millman of Australia in a quarter-final match on day ten of the 2018 U.S. Open tennis tournament at USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. And he finished with 53 unforced errors.

Last year, all four women's semifinalists were Americans, and two of this year's are, Serena Williams and Madison Keys. But Kei woke up and found his form and reeled off six straight games to take the second and go up in the third with a break.

Normally, players are allowed to head off the court only between sets to change what they're wearing.

Within the semifinals, Djokovic will play towards the Japanese Kay Nishikori, who earlier defeated Marin Cilic with the rating 6:2, four:6, 6:7, 6:four, four:6.

Nishikori, the 21st seed, advanced with a 2-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7/5), 4-6, 6-4 victory over Marin Cilic - the man who beat him in the 2014 final.

The policy allows a 10-minute break between the second and third sets of women's singles matches if either player requests one.

Despite having never won a Grand Slam, just 11 career tournaments, Nishikori is in the same league as Grand Slam kings Roger Federer and Rafa Nadal when it comes to pitching products.

Osaka continued what has been a largely dominant run through the draw by winning in just 57 minutes, the third time in her five matches she didn't even have to play an hour. At 2-2 in the second set Millman was allowed to leave the court to change his kit after the umpire ruled that the playing surface had become unsafe because of the floods of sweat dripping off the 29-year-old.

"Naomi's doing well, because she has won a Masters (Indian Wells in March)".

In 2006, he won the Mark Twain Prize for American Humour, which honours work that draws from the American experience. He is survived by three children, and a memorial service is already scheduled for this Thursday in New York City.

Keys was the runner-up to Sloane Stephens at the U.S. Open in 2017, then lost to Stephens in the French Open semifinals this year.

The Serb said that the trying conditions had made the match hard for both players.

"(I was) very tested", Djokovic said.

SWEAT STOPS PLAY He was helped, no doubt, by one of the most unusual breaks ever seen at a Grand Slam tournament.

But Cilic was unable to hold his nerve serving to stay in the match and it was Nishikori who held his arms aloft after four hours and seven minutes.

Cilic, who won their final meeting in straight sets, was pushed to the limit this time around with Nishikori extending his dominance to nine wins from 15 meetings. Djokovic has had his own troubles in the gruelling conditions here, but although there were moments when he again looked distressed the 31-year-old proved a more resilient opponent. Incredible. I have to take at least 10 shirts for every match.

The win meant that Djokovic advanced to his 11th straight United States semifinal - a streak only bettered by Jimmy Connors.

Raducanu and McHugh will both look to reach the junior quarter-finals while Alfie Hewett, who had to sleep on an airport floor during a nightmare journey to NY, and Gordon Reid begin the defence of their wheelchair doubles title. He sat out previous year because of an injured right elbow. No. 20 seed Naomi Osaka of Japan and Lesia Tsurenko of Ukraine are both looking for their first semifinal appearance when they meet in the day's first quarterfinal in Arthur Ashe stadium.
