Tesla's chief accounting officer, Dave Morton, said he was leaving the company after considering the level of attention Tesla has received and the "pace within the company".

Overall, Morton appears to have parted ways with Tesla amicably, stating that he still believes in the company's overall mission, as well as its future prospects.

Toledano, who has been on leave of absence from the company, said she would not be returning to the company.

Following Musk's interview with Rogan, as well as the recent resignation of a chief accounting officer, Tesla stock dropped 9 percent. He took one drag from what Rogan described as a joint containing tobacco mixed with marijuana, which is legal in California.

"You kind of have to be optimistic about the future", said Musk, the head of the private rocket company SpaceX as well as Tesla. Indeed, Tesla's board is rumored to be searching for another executive to help Musk. Tesla said cash from Model 3 sales will pay the bills and drive profits.

Elon Musk should invent something that keeps his mouth shut.

Tributes pour in after death of USA senator John McCain
Earlier this summer, McCain issued a blistering statement criticising Trump's meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin . Capitol on Saturday , followed by a national memorial service at the National Cathedral in Washington .

The Thursday night interview in Los Angeles with Rogan culminated with the two men smoking a blunt.

Morton, a former chief financial officer for computer-drive maker Seagate Technology Plc, joined Tesla one day before Musk tweeted that he was considering buying out some investors at $420 a share and taking the company private.

Morton took over the role in August 2018 after the former chief accountant, Eric Branderiz, left the post after almost two years. His resignation comes in the wake of departures by other Tesla executives including chief engineer Doug Field and top sales executive Ganesh Srivats who both resigned in July.

"No, I'm getting text messages from friends saying, 'What the hell are you doing smoking weed?'" Musk replied.

The plunge in Tesla's stock comes just a day after Elon Musk expressed his support for a report estimating the U.S. sales figures for electric cars now available in the United States. "Every now and again I get drawn in and it's not good, you can make some mistakes". Over the past year, the company burned through roughly $2.4 billion of cash, with interest expense totaling $577 million, according to the research firm CreditSights.

And some, in true Twitter fashion, used the occasion for sarcasm. Earlier this week Musk made a second round of unsubstantiated allegations against Vernon Unsworth, the British diver involved in the cave rescue operation that saved a group of Thai schoolboys in July, whom he had called a "pedo guy".
