The 25-year-old singer is awake after being taken to hospital following what law enforcement sources called an "apparent heroin overdose", TMZ report.

The sources indicated that Lovato was taken from her place of residence in Hollywood Hills to the hospital a few minutes before Tuesday noon local time.

TMZ says those close to the pop star were there when authorities arrived, but gave no information about the drug or drugs that caused the OD. This is so different from what we've seen in cases where I'm thinking, for example, Britney Spears or Amy Winehouse struggled with similar problems and were not treated very sympathetically. Lovato told British talk-show host Jonathan Ross last year that her parents got tough with her a few years back. All of us love her and need to pray for her to get well.

There has been an outpouring of support for her from fans and celebrities on social media, including Ariana Grande, Lily Allen and Ellen DeGeneres, who said: "It breaks my heart that she is going through this". We decided together that we're probably just better as friends.

Lovato's role as aspiring singer Mitchie Torres in the Disney TV movie "Camp Rock" introduced the world to her musical talent.

Nick posted, "Like all of you, I am reeling at the news about Demi".

Through interviews and in song, Lovato has spoken openly about her battles with sobriety, addiction and mental illness.

Many of Heitkamp's colleagues-as well as her Republican opponent for Senate this November, U.S. Kevin Cramer, R-N.D.,-shared their thoughts nearly immediately after the announcement.

Kehlani, who came out earlier this year and in April shared a kiss with Demi on stage, said she was "sending huge recovery love to Demi".

The 25-year-old star said: "We connected because I heard her story - and when I heard [it] I was just completely inspired by it". "That means she had addiction. she has multiple psychiatric conditions - [bipolar disorder], eating disorder - it makes it more complicated". "Two, if I'd be alive today". She has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and was previously hospitalized.

We wish Demi a full and speedy recovery.

If you have addiction in your family, she said, then you're more likely to be affected by it. "My heart hurts", she wrote in the caption.

"I hope she is given the privacy, respect, support and compassion she deserves right now".

"But he didn't think it was this severe, that she'd be struggling so much and have a situation [with] these repercussions". "Her honesty has helped so many others".
