England series a good learning experience for World Cup, says Shardul Thakur

India pacer Shardul Thakur feels it is never easy to come off the bench and perform straight away in high-pressure games, and he too felt the heat in the series-deciding third and final ODI against England.

Kuldeep had Root stumped by MS Dhoni for a duck in the first Twenty20 at Old Trafford and then snared him lbw for just three during India's eight-wicket victory in the ODI series opener at Trent Bridge last week.

In the Team Rankings, number-one ranked England has moved to 127 points after gaining one point, while India have dropped one point to finish on 121 points.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni's future has once again become fodder for speculation after the talismanic-but-currently-off-colour former India skipper sought the match ball at the end of the lost third ODI against England in Leeds. Mark Wood joins the party as Hardik Pandya is caught by wicketkeeper Jos Buttler for 21 runs.

England bowlers David Willey and Adil Rashid grabbed three wickets each as India lost wickets at regular intervals.

But, after left-arm quick Willey had kept things tight early on, it was leg-spinner Rashid who did significant damage by taking two wickets in an over.

Nadal: Novak will be a tough opponent
Nadal has 17 while Djokovic has stalled on 12 since completing the career Grand Slam at Roland Garros in 2016. I remember chatting to Andy Murray before the tournament and we felt that...

But the introduction of Yorkshire fast bowler Liam Plunkett helped India break the shackles.

James Vince, called up in place of the injured Jason Roy cut the first ball of England's reply, from Bhuvneshwar Kumar, for four. Virat Kohli is with him when he asks for it.

Vince, dropped from the Test team at the start of the summer, scored over 500 runs in Hampshire's victorious Royal London One Day Cup campaign this summer and may have the chance to add to his previous four ODI innings due to Alex Hales' injury and Dawid Malan's involvement with England Lions.

Meanwhile, England won the decider by 8 wickets to seal the series 2-1. Along with Root, India's spinner Kuldeep Yadav has also broken into the top ten for the first time in his career after he claimed nine wickets in the three matches. India will depend on their top order batsmen Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli who have played decently so far.
