Forecast: Heavy storms coming to western CT today

Strong to severe storms are possible with gusty winds and heavy downpours.

The flash-flood watch is now for: Worcester, Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Middlesex and Plymouth counties.

A few thunderstorms may have strong wind gusts too. Wed/Thu/Fri will be dry.

A front will approach the area by Tuesday.

From Noon forward in time, thunderstorms will develop.

"In those areas, 1 to 2 inches of rain is expected from thunderstorms, possibly in less than an hours", forecasters wrote. Flooding by the Chateau burn scar would be likely from these storms. Wednesday's high will be in the mid-80s.

That northwesterly flow will usher drier air into CT and dew points will drop into the 50s, so the level of comfort will improve.
