Apple Music may have just unseated Spotify in the US

According to the report, Apple Music now holds the top spot in the United States with over 20 million subscribers. In February, The Wall Street Journal reported that Spotify's monthly paid subscriber growth rate in the United States was at 2% compared to Apple Music's 5%.

According to a report by Digital Music News that claims the information was gathered by a "US-based, major distributor", Apple music has finally surpassed Spotify in monthly paid subscribers.

It's important to note, however, that Apple is still trailing Spotify when it comes to global subscriptions. Back in February, the publication reported Apple Music would surpass Spotify in US paid subscriptions if it maintained a growth rate of 5 percent. And the more credible Financial Times reports that the Apple Music subscriber base, at 21 to 21.5 million, is still slightly behind Spotify's, at 22 to 22.5 million.

It was her 16th straight victory at Wimbledon, although she missed last year's tournament while pregnant. Among the 15,000 people on Centre Court were his two sets of twins.

Apple recently demonstrated its edge over Spotify as musician Drake released his new album "Scorpion", which is expected to be the biggest album of the year. The Financial Times says that Apple will end the year with 27 million USA subscribers, while Spotify will land at about 24 million.

While we've come to acknowledge the dominance of Spotify in the music streaming space, that dominance might be diminishing ... well, at least here in the US.

Now that Apple Music has overtaken Spotify in terms of paid subscribers in the United States, what could be next for the music streaming service. To be exact, Spotify is growing 2% each month while Apple Music grows 5% each month. 70 million of these enjoy the paid tier, Spotify Premium, whereas the others use the ad-supported free tier of the service.
