She was photographed at Andrews Air Force Base wearing a jacket from high street retailer Zara reading: "I really don't care, do u?".

"Melania knows how they are false, and it's really not anymore", said trump.

While everyone was speculating whether Melania Trump was trying to send a message by wearing a provocative Zara jacket when departing for a trip to the border, she doubled-down by wearing it on her return trip too.

She donned it during a journey to Texas, where she visited facilities which houses immigrant children who were separated from their parents at the border.

As images of Mrs Trump surfaced online, social media was swamped with users in disbelief over her choice of jacket.

Trump's spokeswoman denied that the jacket had any special significance.

Visiting another classroom, Melania asked children where they were from and how long they'd been at the centre where staff said children typically spend between 42 and 45 days.

It is not the first time Melania Trump's fashion choices have been criticized.
