The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the jihadists had targeted a group of Syrian and allied Russian fighters near the town of Mayadeen in Deir Ezzor province on Wednesday.

Russia's Defense Ministry announced four servicemen were killed by terrorist shelling in Syria's eastern Deir Ezzor province, Russian media reported on May 27.

Officially Russia claimed about four perished Russians, while Syria reported about 100 soldiers to be killed.

Through surveillance of radio transmissions, the United States discovered that at least some of the pro-government forces were speaking Russian, stoking the fears, according to The Times.

The remaining 26 were all Syrian forces, he told the AFP news agency.

The Russian ministry said the dead were military advisers attached to a Syrian army unit in the Deir ez-Zor.

Two have been navy advisers supporting Syrian artillery operations and died instantly, and one other two died of their wounds in a Russian-operated navy hospital in Syria.

Until now, she said, " many European Union leaders didn't see to what extent the issue would become so important". Meanwhile, EU imports from Iran increased by 83.9 percent past year .

The fighting lasted about an hour, resulting in the deaths of 43 IS fighters and in the destruction of six all-terrain vehicles, the report said.

The report says that when USA military officials noticed the forces amassing near the outpost, they were nervous about a potential clash between Russian and U.S. troops, which could have major geopolitical implications and lead to a larger conflict between the two world powers.

In December, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered a "significant part" of Moscow's military presence in Syria to begin withdrawing from the country, saying their objective had been achieved.

According to the ministry, the fighting occurred in the Deir ez-Zor Governorate in the dark time when several mobile terrorist groups attacked an artillery battery of the Syrian government forces.

All this could bring Russian Federation and the U.S. to the bloody conflict but pro-Syrian government lost the battle.

Terrorists attacked Syrian and Russian troops, and the latter was forced to respond, according to the MoD.

The very best casualties have been in March, when a transport airplane crashed at Hmeimim airbase the place Moscow's airforce is predicated, killing all 39 individuals on board.
