Prior to being fired, Crawford issued an apology and offered his side of the story, claiming he was reprimanded because he "reacted with anger to working conditions that did not feel safe", and revealed he was forced to undergo "studio-appointed therapy".

'Riggs was a dream role and the experience will live with me forever. Crawford addressed the complaints in a lengthy Tweet, but Fox and Warner Bros TV were already on the hunt for a replacement.

"Lethal Weapon" airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Fox.

Any reactions to having Seann William Scott on the show now??

Then on Sunday two major revelations broke about the series - it would indeed back for a third season, and that Crawford would be replaced by Seann William Scott.

"Lethal Weapon" star Clayne Crawford is looking at some good news and some bad news right now. Sources have told EW that the decision was a hard one and was due to Crawford exhibiting a pattern of toxic behavior on the set and that there is video and audio evidence of such behavior. After noticing that he had set his Twitter account to private, multiple Twitter users accused Wayans of being responsible for getting Crawford fired, despite their being no official reports confirming that. One we've been keen to hear news about is whether Lethal Weapon was going to get a season 3 or not. He is to play a new character opposite series regular Damon Wayans in the series based on the film franchise of the same name. Crawford's behavior has led to other actors feeling uncomfortable with him continuing in the role.

Lethal Weapon is the Fox's No. 2 returning drama behind Empire.

Crawford apologized for two of the reported incidents, but according to TV Line that didn't stop his co-star Damon Wayans from ceasing all communication with him. The second incident occurred during an episode Crawford was directing when another actor on set felt unsafe after being hit by a piece of shrapnel from an effect. With Scott replacing Crawford, the show won't have to figure out whether Lethal Weapon could continue without a Riggs, and will give it a go with Scott being a maniac with a badge. I hope I'm not fired!
