Cleveland Browns: Baker backup? He isn't having that

Fast forward to last week, when the Cleveland Browns selected Mayfield with the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft.

Head coach Hue Jackson has been adamant that Tyrod Taylor is the starter in Cleveland and that Mayfield will have to bide his time before he gets his chance to lead the offense. Recent examples include the likes of former Texas A&M star quarterback Johnny Manziel and former Baylor University Bears and Baltimore Ravens quarterback Robert Griffin III, both of whom were also Heisman winners.

"In pregame, he would walk by a group of Oklahoma players and there was just that instant energy that everyone had", Wolf said.

"I think he'll do well", he said.

Mayfield will have to display all those qualities in his first season in the National Football League, as the Browns aim to bounce back from a dismal campaign, which saw them become only the second team since the Detroit Lions in 2009 to finish with a 0-16 record.

"It's a mentality that you are not going to take "no" for an answer". You have to put the time in.

Mayfield said he met Taylor when the QB stopped in while he was in quarterbacks coach Ken Zampese's office.

"Everything I've heard, even when I went on my visit at the Bills, they said the same things about him, he's just an unbelievable guy", Mayfield said. We can only hope that Mayfield will prove himself as a leader who can turn the entire organization around. The city of Cleveland has seen the rise and fall of a plethora of quarterbacks throughout the years - some who were doomed from the start. However, the Browns are clearly counting on Mayfield being their franchise quarterback of the future. They are replica production of the kicks LeBron sported in his majestic Game 7 performance in the Eastern Conference Finals which sent the Cavs to the franchise's first-ever NBA Finals. You simply don't draft a player at that position so high without expecting an immediate impact. "They've been winning in the past and some of those guys set the tone, so right now, we're trying to get back to that".

"I'm always competitive", Mayfield said according to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com. The team did not provide any further details.

It's likely not a serious injury, but the Cleveland Browns should be a little bit concerned.
