The meeting between Kim and Moon will only be the third summit between the rivals since the end of the 1950-53 Korean War and could prove to be significant in the global diplomatic push to resolve the North Korean nuclear crisis. Kim met last month with China's president and is to meet South Korea's leader April 27. Details of Summit are being worked out now.

"Denuclearization will be a great thing for World, but also for North Korea", he said.

On Jan. 17, 2017, however, Putin said on TV: "I don't know Mr. Trump".

Moon and Kim plan to make their first telephone conversation sometime before their face-to-face meeting.

Both South Korean and Chinese officials have cited Kim as saying he is committed to denuclearisation of the Korean peninsula - which has always been code for the withdrawal of United States troops and Washington's nuclear umbrella over its security ally.

"But that's not a matter than can be resolved between the two Koreas alone".

Mr Moon has said that Mr Kim is willing to discuss denuclearisation and that he will not insist on American troops being withdrawn from South Korea as part of any deal.

In the U.S. Senate, Republicans have a single-vote advantage on the 21-member panel that will have the first say on Pompeo's nomination.

"The call quality was very good and we felt like we got a call from our next-door neighbour", South Korea's director for the Government Situation Room, Youn Kun-young, told reporters.

A peace treaty is thought to be one of the measures to guarantee the North Korean regime's security in return for the communist state agreeing to abandon its nuclear weapons program.

Harvey, Irma, Nate, and Maria retired as storm names
For example, only 21 letters of the English alphabet are in use, so none of the names start with less common letters like Q. Maria was used three times in the Atlantic and three times in the Western Pacific, while Nate was also used three times.

But then Kim declared in a New Year's speech his country was "a peace-loving and responsible nuclear power" and called for lower military tension and improved ties with the South.

Inter-Korean relations have been improving since the North made a decision to take part in the February 9-25 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics hosted by South Korea.

Now the USA is paying about $1.3billion to maintain its military presence in South Korea with almost 28500 troops deployed.

A senior Ministry of National Defense official said it's not an easy task but discussing the issue can be a "meaningful first step". The South's presidential office declined to comment on the trip.

The North also vowed to actively engage with regional neighbors and the global community to secure peace in the Korean Peninsula and create an "optimal worldwide environment" to build its economy.

He praised Chinese President Xi Jinping for co-operating with him on North Korea.

For its part the U.S. stresses it wants to see the complete, irreversible and verifiable denuclearisation of the North.

".for many years they have been talking to North Korea and nothing has happened".

As depicted by the West, North Korea is a God-forsaken country that does not observe human rights, is ruled with an iron hand and is underdeveloped.

The two Koreas have meanwhile been pressing ahead with preparations for the inter-Korean summit next week.
