The Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association in its statement in Srinagar denounced the use of force on the protesting students against the kidnapping, rape and gruesome murder of the eight-year-old girl, Aasifa.

Street protests and candle-light rallies were held in several Indian cities and towns with the participation of people from all walks of life and age groups-they came out with placards demanding justice for the victims through bringing the perpetrators of the heinous crimes to book.

Legendary Indian boxer M C Mary Kom, who is also a sitting Rajya Sabha MP, said the alarming increase in the number of rapes in the country has left her feeling "hurt and helpless".

The charge sheet revealed chilling details about how the girl was allegedly kidnapped, drugged, raped inside a place of worship before being killed. "Dr.Manmohan Singh unlike your observation, when PM Modi says something it's heard & action is taken. Please Dr.Manmohan Singh don't compare your days with that of Modi Ji's".

The speakers said that support of Hindu extremist organizations to the murderers of the girl in Kathua "amply proved that BJP government in Delhi is involved in this inhuman act".

What We Know About The Strikes In Syria
Syria and Russian Federation have condemned the air strike, denying President Bashar Assad's forces did not use chemical weapons. As he spoke, at least six loud explosions were heard in Damascus on Saturday and smoke was seen rising over the Syrian capital.

On reported allegations by Nazakat Khatana's about money dealing in the case, Dy CM said that he has directed the agencies to verify it. The BJP has started shortlisting fresh faces to replace the shamed duo, both of whom have expressed no regret in supporting the alleged culprits, including a former revenue officer and a special police officer. The court ordered J&K government to file its response by April 25.

"I want to assure that no criminal will be spared; our daughters will get justice", said PM, in an apparent reference to Unnao and Kathua cases. Singh said that Modi's failure to speak up sooner had allowed people to think that they could get away with such crimes.

Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh on Thursday called for a thorough investigation in to the Kathua rape and murder case.

The BJP dissociated itself from Singh's rally. What is wrong with the society?

"Such incidents shake our sensibilities", he said, according to PTI news agency. No one was comfortable with the party being seen as associated with rape accused.
