Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar could be back in time for the champions-elect's final game of the season against SM Caen, according to the player himself.

The Spaniard arrived at the start of last season on a two-year deal having won three Europa League titles in a row with Sevilla, his expertise in continental knockout ties said to be a major reason for his hiring as PSG sought to upset the established order in the Champions League.

PSG coach Unai Emery said on Friday that Neymar was "close" to returning to the club.

"If we had signed with someone, we would have announced it to you", Al-Khelaifi told Canal+. We work hard, but the other clubs do it too.

"There is a solid tool for the future, to remain number one in France and become that elsewhere with patience and hard work".

Neymar had enjoyed an electric first season in France after becoming the world's most expensive player last summer, with 28 goals and 16 assists in all competitions before his injury setback.

"But the reports which came out were much bigger, I think because that's what sells. Play your football and do not be intimidated".

Cavani then released Di Maria with a superb hooked pass from inside his own half and the Argentine raced clear before lifting an exquisite chip over the advancing Danijel Subasic.

Javier Pastore supplied Lo Celso to head in PSG's fourth on 28 minutes and Monaco suffered further misfortune when France worldwide Djibril Sidibe was stretchered off with a leg injury, a worrying sign for Didier Deschamps ahead of the World Cup.

However, the second continued in the same fashion as the first as PSG netted a fifth goal after 58 minutes through a deflected effort from Di Maria.
