Wouldn't it be nice if Alexa could help you hurry your family along or maybe announce that dinner is ready?

Amazon has introduced a new Alexa Announcements feature that lets you use your Echo device like an intercom. Say "Alexa, tell everyone dinner's ready", and everyone in your home within earshot of an Echo device will hear you say "dinner's ready".

How do Alexa Announcements work?

"If you have a PIN or password set on your device, certain Alexa features won't be available without entering it". The company is calling it Alexa Announcements, and the functionality is very similar to the broadcast feature Google Home has had since late past year.

The feature is rolling out now in the U.S. and Canada.

She added that Hogg was "Dinged by UCLA with a 4.1 GPA.totally predictable given acceptance rates". Rachel Ray's Nutrish said earlier Thursday that it was pulling its ads from the Ingraham Angle .

This gives the tablets the same abilities as the retailer's Echo range of smart speakers, although audio quality from the slates won't be as good as the dedicated devices.

The Amazon Fire 7 (8GB) is now available for $49.99, which makes it the same price as an Echo Dot for roughly the same [Alexa] functionality. It also matches Google Home, which has had music as part of its own Routines feature since it went live in March.

Yep. Google began offering this same functionality for its Google Home line of smart speakers this past November.

With Amazon Key's more basic features having gone nationwide, in-home delivery is likely to follow in the near future.
