Police Respond To Active Shooter At YouTube Headquarters In California

San Francisco General Hospital said it has three patients from the shooting, including one in critical condition.

Gunshots were reported at the company's campus in San Bruno, south of San Francisco, BBC News reports.

Two law enforcement sources confirms to ABC7 News reporter Dan Noyes that the shooter is a white, adult female wearing a dark top and head scarf.

San Bruno police asked people to "please stay out of the area".

City Manager Connie Jackson says there have been multiple 911 calls reporting a shooting and that police and fire officials have responded.

Employee Vadim Lavrusik followed up his original tweet, revealing employees were safely evacuated and were outside the building.

There are also unconfirmed reports that the suspect has shot themselves. She heard a series of shots before a brief pause and more gunfire.

Todd Sherman, an employee at YouTube, tweeted about the ordeal. In a tweet, the president offered "thoughts and prayers" for everyone involved, along with thanks to first responders.

Police found a victim and a second person once getting inside, authorities said in a news conference, the second person was apparently the suspected shooter who had suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Sherman's tweets continued: "I looked down and saw blood drips on the floor and stairs". Now barricaded inside a room with coworkers.

Videos and photos on social media showed YouTube employees walking out of offices with their hands raised.

Google Communications putout a message on Twitter saying they are coordinating with authorities and will provide official information from Google and YouTube as it becomes available.

There are reports that helicopters and tactical teams have arrived at the scene.
