The slightly enlarged model is wrapped in entirely new sheetmetal with a more robust design.

For automotive consumers, it is all about the available choices that Toyota is offering.

Under the hood, we'll get a new 2.0-litre four cylinder that will feature direct injection. The Toyota RAV4 is one of the best-selling models from the Japanese carmaker in the USA and the company has gone to all measures to give the SUV a total overhaul for the 2019 model year. It's sportier, more aggressive and much more modern-looking than the model it replaces, which Toyota will no doubt be hoping will help to keep it ahead of its rivals as the biggest-selling vehicle of its kind in the world for another year at least. The 2019 RAV's ground clearance has also been increased by more than half an inch.

The RAV4 Hybrid will follow in February of 2019. Each outputs more power than before and is mated a newly-developed transmission. For this all-new second-generation model, the "iM" suffix is gone, and henceforth, this five-door will be known simply as the Corolla Hatchback. The automaker claims the mill now delivers better efficiency and we also know the non-hybrid version is getting a new eight-speed automatic transmission. For the higher trim nonhybrid models, Toyota has introduced Dynamic Torque Vectoring All-Wheel Drive with Rear Driveline Disconnect.

Helsel added that his teachers, students, and staff have been given active shooter training, and they routinely hold drills for active shooter simulations.

The system is standard on Adventure and Limited AWD grades of the vehicle. Black Softex faux leather and blue trim decorate the XSE Hybrid's interior.

The Hybrid also has a new AWD system that can send 30-per-cent more power to the electrically driven rear wheels than before. Notably it looks like Toyota chose to go with Amazon Alexa connectivity in lieu of Google's platform. Toyota says they will be released, along with engine performance numbers, closer to the vehicle's launch.

Toyota alleges the new RAV4 will boast best-in-class fuel economy and improved driving dynamics.

Toyota includes its Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 as standard equipment with the 2019 RAV4. Also standard is Toyota's Entune 3.0 audio system with Apple CarPlay and Amazon Alexa compatibility, while optionally available will be a 800-watt JBL premium sound system. Higher-spec RAV4s see that screen grow to 8.0 inches, while a separate TFT display is available in the instrument cluster. Climate controls are farther down the dash, with a tray beneath for your smartphone, including a Qi wireless charging pad. This includes Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist and Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection. The latter will center the auto in its lane by guiding itself with the painted lines or by following the vehicle ahead. Road Sign Assist can identify traffic signs like stop, yield, do not enter, etc. and display warnings to the driver based on those.
