Six Rochester Institute of Technology graduate programs are among the best in the nation, with several on the rise according to U.S. News & World Report's 2019 edition of America's Best Graduate Schools.

"The fact that so numerous graduate programs at UW-Madison are ranked is a testament to our senior leadership, who foster an environment of academic excellence; our outstanding faculty and staff, who lead cutting-edge research programs; and our creative students, who bring curiosity and vibrancy to address the most important questions that society faces today", says William Karpus, dean of UW-Madison's Graduate School.

To determine the rankings, U.S. News surveyed all 480 MBA programs in business accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International, with 387 responding in fall 2017 and early 2018. "We're excited to have the MBA program joining our other ranked graduate and executive programs that enjoy top 25 placements". The magazine's less-frequent rankings of programs in the sciences, social sciences, and humanities are based exclusively on reputational surveys.

Each year, the U.S. News ranks professional school programs in business, education, engineering, law, medicine and nursing, including specialties in each area.

The School of Law moved up one notch, to 22nd of 194, and also scored high for its education in certain specialties: 4th in health care law, 7th in tax law, 11th in intellectual property law, 31st for clinical training.

"The Graduate School of Education is pleased to have climbed 10 spots in the rankings from past year", said Suzanne Rosenblith, PhD, dean and professor, UB Graduate School of Education.

All of the OH law school rankings were ties with other schools.

For 2019, the company tweaked the way it measures some of its data, notably how it credits schools for test scores, grade point average, and reputation. The program is ranked at No. 50 among public institutions, rising 41 places from last year's ranking, and coming in at No. 74 overall.

UB's School of Social Work, climbing to No. 24, is rated among the top programs of its type in the nation. "We have bold initiatives under way created to build upon this recent momentum and take one of the nation's most ascendant law schools to even greater heights".

The College of Nursing's master's and doctor of nursing practice programs continued on their upward trends in the rankings, leaping 37 spots and 15 places, respectively, to No. 66 on both lists. These include UB graduate programs in biological sciences (140), chemistry (79), computer science (61) earth sciences (90), mathematics (94), physics (91) and statistics (83).

As a whole, U.S. News ranked the College of Education and Health Professions graduate programs as the No. 36 school of education among public institutions and No. 46 overall. "I'm glad to see the hard work of our faculty, staff and students reflected by these rankings that put our programs among the best in the nation". "Our MSN program ranking improved 35.9 percent, and our DNP program ranking improved 18.5 percent".
