The special counsel is looking at Russia's alleged meddling in the 2016 USA presidential election and whether there was any collusion with the Trump campaign.

Senior White House adviser and presidential son-in-law Jared Kushner, in charge of a massive portfolio ranging from government reinvention to relations with China and Mexico to Mideast peace, can no longer credibly serve the American people.

The outlet reported that Kushner critically worked to undermine Secretary of State Rex Tillerson's attempts to bring the crisis to an end.

Wallace said he believes Special Counsel Robert Mueller's Russian Federation investigation will go on for "months" longer at least, adding to the issues for the administration.

Mueller's office declined to comment to NBC News for its story. The New York Times reports Kushner's companies received hundreds of millions of dollars in loans from business leaders after Kushner met with them at the White House. The White House, however, maintained that the meeting was strictly diplomatic. Trump has repeatedly denied there was any collusion.

President Donald Trump called on a bipartisan group of lawmakers at the White House on Wednesday to

"In private conversations, the president vacillates between sounding regretful that Mr. Kushner is taking arrows and annoyed that he is another problem to deal with", the newspaper reported.

Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani was reportedly considering investing in the Kushner Companies' real-estate project at a Fifth Avenue property in NY.

Ivanka's post-White House business deals are also under scrutiny, as CNN reported that the Federal Bureau of Investigation is reviewing a deal with Canada. The Post report quoted unnamed USA officials familiar with intelligence reports on the issue.

Wheeler notes that "Kushner has been famously tardy in disclosing his business interests and ties with foreigners in his application for a security clearance"-which was downgraded last week-meaning that "he has conducted an entire year of foreign policy without officially disclosing all the personal interests he may have been serving".
