The Los Angeles Clippers originally traded Reed to the Pistons in the recent deal that also sent Blake Griffin to Detroit. James Ennis, who was also acquired by the Pistons, will not be available after getting stuck in bad weather today.

Multiple reports say the Pistons have targeted New Orleans Pelicans swingman Dante Cunningham with recently acquired forward Brice Johnson as the trade bait.

Early Thursday morning, the Detroit Pistons swung a deal with the Chicago Bulls reuniting Stan Van Gundy with his former Orlando Magic point guard, Jameer Nelson.

The Bulls are likely to use Reed at power forward and center to fill in their needs, with an empty spot after the departure of the sharp-shooting Mirotic.

Weinstein considers legal action against Thurman
A representative for Weinstein denied physically assaulting Thurman and said the producer never threatened Thurman's career. The incident ended in a crash, which left her with a "permanently damaged neck" and "screwed-up knees".

Later in the after, the Bulls waived the 27-year-old Reed, who was averaging 4.6 points and 2.9 rebounds in 10.2 minutes per game in 42 games this season. Plus, Reed would only hold a minimal role behind the All-Star duo of Griffin and Andre Drummond.

As part of the Nelson-Reed swap, the Bulls get the right to swap second-round picks in 2022, .

Jackson has played just 33 games this season, and while he has performed well on the court averaging 14.6 points and 5.5 assists, he needs to play more to make his five-year, $80 million contract worth it. Wherever Reed lands, he won't be available to play until February 25 thanks to a six-game suspension due to an offseason domestic violence incident.

Nelson, 6-0, 190, has averaged 11.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 28.0 minutes in 871 career National Basketball Association games with Orlando, Dallas, Boston, Denver and New Orleans. They have been able to add some depth with two players who can contribute for two players who were now quite clearly little more than throw-ins to the Blake Griffin deal.
