Rohit Sharma struck his third double century to power India to series-levelling victory over Sri Lanka in the second one day global at the PCA stadium in Mohali on Wednesday. Sri Lanka romped to victory with seven wickets to spare. "I can keep talking about the batting that we did today, right from the start, with Shikhar (Dhawan) giving us a brilliant start, and Shreyas Iyer - it didn't look like he was only playing his second ODI", Rohit said.

And despite an unbeaten 111 by Angelo Mathews, it was beyond Sri Lanka's reach and India was home by 141 runs.

Sharma singled out tormentor in the first ODI Lakmal in the 44th over and scored 26 runs off it which included four sixes of four legal balls. At the PCA Stadium in Chandigarh, Sharma belted an unbeaten 153-ball 208, comprising 13 fours and 12 sixes.

In the remaining 10 overs, Sharma faced 37 deliveries but scored a jaw-dropping 107 off them and India added 147 to their total in this period. Despite being in the form that he was in, Rohit, somehow, managed to miss the last ball of the over. Rohit batted like an artist who explored the full range of expression, combining finesse with mesmerising bat-swing and shot selection, merging discipline with desire. Apart from Rohit, Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar are the other two Indian cricketers to have scored double century in ODIs.
