These three classics will be joining Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, the first game in the franchise and one that is already available for download via the PlayStation Store.

A launch trailer has been released for Jak II, Jak 3, and Jak X Combat Racing.

Before you get too excited, Jak and Daxter aren't getting the full remake treatment, but the original PS2 games have been upgraded with 1080p and Trophy support. If you're familiar with Jak and Daxter in general, the Jak games are a little different, a little "darker", but decent platformers and worth trying out. All the games can be purchased individually or as part of a bundle. There will also be some minor technical improvements, including quicker loading times.

The Jak and Daxter series' numbered trilogy will finally be available on PlayStation 4 as the second and third entries will release next week through the PlayStation Store as PlayStation 2 Classics. Jak and Daxter evolved from whimsical lighthearted platforming characters to a much darker vision of a future's past world where Jak and Daxter find themselves pitted against multiple dark forces moving against them.

In fact, the blog post claimed that the Jak and Daxter series formed the foundation of Naughty Dog's storytelling innovations, leading to critically acclaimed hits such as the Uncharted franchise and The Last of Us.

The theme is set to release December 6th, so have your credit cards ready when the theme drops to take a long overdue trip down memory lane.
