Disney streaming service is set to launch in 2019, and Netflix Inc, Inc.

"Our plan on the Disney side is to price this substantially below where Netflix is", Iger said on Disney's Q4 earnings call.

Iger said in the call that Disney's platform would be "substantially cheaper" than Netflix, which now charges $10.99 / £5.99 a month for its basic package. According to reports, around 7000 episodes of Disney television and 500 movies will be available on the new service, the exclusive home in the USA for subscription-video-on-demand viewing of the newest live action and animated movies from Disney and Pixar.

Production recently wrapped on a film based on the story of Han Solo, who was played by actor Harrison Ford in the original trilogy as well as in 2015's "The Force Awakens", according to Disney executives.

News emerged this week that Disney had held talks about buying the entertainment wing of United States media rival 21 Century Fox. The basic plan of Netflix is $7.99, but if you want HD it costs $10.99.

But Disney said it isn't trying to be the "Netflix killer" the media has made it out to be. Marvel's New Warrior could be one of the many series to come to the Disney streaming service.

The incident happened during the University of Miami's victory over Virginia Tech at the Hard Rock stadium on Saturday night. The Pembroke Pines woman, a registered nurse, bonded out Sunday morning.

While networks like ABC, Freeform, and Disney XD are exclusively owned by Disney, they share ownership of Hulu alongside other companies.

Netflix is now home to The Defenders line of Marvel shows, with The Punisher launching later this month; Hulu also has a new Marvel series, Runaways, set to debut on November 21. The downdraft from bad weather, lower ad sales and a tough year for movies was too powerful even for Disney, which counts on TV, theme parks, consumer products and its famous studio to fuel growth.

Marvel is now producing multiple shows for a string of networks and streaming platforms: Agents of SHIELD for ABC, Runaways for Hulu, Legion for FX, The Gifted for Fox and Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders and The Punisher for Netflix.

Device support is unclear, though Disney has referred to the upcoming service as an "app" on several occasions, suggesting it could be streamed to smartphones, tablets, computers, TVs, and other internet-connected devices capable of running applications. This new service will feature a way to only showcase Disney branded content.

As soon as we know more, we'll let you know, sports fans. It will also have original series and should be much cheaper than Netflix. This will launch before the entertainment-focused service rolls out.
