Ubisoft has released a brand new trailer for Far Cry 5 which reveals more about the game's "friends for hire" co-op mode.

In an interview published on Official PlayStation Magazine UK (issue #142, December 2017), Ubisoft's Game Director Dan Hay explained that the development team strived to retain the sanctity of a single player story, something that's far from a given in a co-op mode.

Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 4 both had co-op elements in them, but neither comes close to the potential from this outing. Essentially, the trailer is showing off the fact that Far Cry 5 won't feature "lite" co-op, but will feature a co-op friendly campaign.

Welcome to Hope County, Montana, land of the free and the courageous but also home to a fanatical doomsday cult known as Eden's Gate. Alternatively, you could also invite a co-op buddy into your game to fight through main story missions with you. There's not much gameplay, but what we do see is the idea of being able to play the game with a friend online.

He indicated that the league's ultimate goal is for protests to end. "We did not ask for that", he said , as quoted by CBS News. The president originally suggested that players unwilling to stand be fired.

You'll be able to adventure together, but only the hosting player will be able to accept missions, keep world progression, and recruit and command Guns for Hire. What do you think of the new co-op features? One solution to this problem is to play the game through with the same person.

All earned experience and inventory items, excluding quest-based items, will carry over after each co-op play session.

Far Cry 5 will be available on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 on February 27th.
