Olivier Giroud strengthened his case in his battle for supremacy with Arsenal team-mate Alexandre Lacazette thanks to his sensational Europa League goal on Thursday.

Theo Walcott had two early chances as Arsenal dominated in the early periods of the game but he was unable to convert them. And part of the package for opposition teams when they come to the Serbian capital to play Red Star, is the tunnel walk like no other. Nemanja Radonjic was found at the back post and his volley was well saved by Petr Cech before Reiss Nelson blocked the rebound.

Arsenal themselves nearly found a breakthrough in the first half with Egypt global Mohamed Elneny's cross finding Olivier Giroud but his header went wide.

And former United star Keane believes Arsenal are struggling to keep up with their Premier League rivals. Joe Willock laid it off to Walcott who fluffed the chance and then Giroud's strike was no trouble for Borjan.

Real Sociedad hammered FK Vardar 6-0 with the help of four goals from Brazilian forward Willian Jose, while fellow Liga side Athletic Bilbao were left on the brink of elimination as they drew 2-2 at Swedish side Ostersund.

The man advantage eventually paid off five minutes later as Jack Wilshere spearheaded a trademark Arsenal passing move which led to Olivier Giroud adjusting his body well to score an overhead kick, adding to his collection of spectacular goals.

Speaking ahead of the game, Owen made a prediction about Lacazette saying: "Neither side has been convincing this term but Arsene Wenger's side remain blessed with a wealth of attacking options in the final third and their new talisman Alexander Lacazette is fancied to score on his debut at Goodison".
