Two years ago Ole Miss in Tuscaloosa, the Ole Miss Rebels won their second straight game against Alabama.

"It was legal, it was a cut block", Saban said.

"They're a very explosive offensive team", Saban said.

Hurts, who leads Alabama in rushing with 461 yards and has six touchdown passes with no interceptions, said he is sure his father has received plenty of ticket requests this week from family and friends, but that the quarterback avoids such distractions during game week. Ole Miss is being out-gained by better than 100 yards on the ground per game this season and the Crimson Tide will be handing the football off to Damien Harris and Bo Scarbrough and letting them rumble.

But Saturday was proof that while Alabama remains the safest bet in the country, last season's offensive limitations haven't been mitigated by a new play-caller and a few extra months of quarterback maturity.

"They (Hurts and Tua Tagovailoa) did a good job, and I'm pleased with the opportunity they got because they were playing in the game, and I thought they executed fairly well", coach Nick Saban said.

The Rebels are in a unique position as the only team to have beaten Alabama two of the last three seasons. The offense cruised up and down the field and the stifling defense didn't allow Ole Miss to have any breathing room, coming up with five sacks. He completed three of his five pass attempts for 51 yards and a touchdown through the air.

Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts runs the ball again Ole Miss Saturday.

The last time A&M was unranked after the first five weeks of the season was in 2012, when the Aggies did land a spot in the poll until they beat MS on October 6 in Oxford.

"Defensively, they're tough to run against". Wallace's ability to lock down his side of the field will be paramount in neutralizing the Rebels' passing prowess. The over/under for last night's game was 56, but many people were surprised that Alabama would eclipse that total score by themselves.

What happened: A blitzing Minkah Fitzpatrick sacked Patterson for a 12-yard loss, ending a scoring threat.

With the Rebels trailing by 25, the first quarter came to a close.

Hurts is proving to be one of the nation's best playmakers on his own. "It's certainly going to be a challenge for us and a test for us, and a division game on the road".

Alabama has only been tested once this season, and that was against a Florida State team that has looked anything but impressive since their loss to the Tide.
