Hurricane Maria reached Puerto Rico on September 20, leaving 24 dead and most of the island without electricity, following the devastation of Hurricane Irma two weeks previous.

"That's a situation that he's got to take care of", coach Rick Carlisle said, according to ESPN.

Also on Tuesday, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban lent his personal plane to one of his players, J.J. Barea, to rescue members of his family, SBNation reported.

Barea, the only active native Puerto Rican in the National Basketball Association, said on Wednesday the island is in bad shape (via ESPN's Tim MacMahon).

At that time hitherto, unknown Lashkar- e-Islam posters surfaced in the town considered as the support base of Geelani. Lashkar e- Islam Chief was a rebel commander of Hizbul Mujahideen, who later formed the terror outfit Lashkar-e-Islam.

"Today Puerto Rico needs our help. He's going to take his mom and grandmother back with him, and my understanding is his dad is going to stay over there and slug it out with all of the recovery efforts".

"I was really proud of J.J.", Cuban told ESPN in a text message, "and how quickly he got involved and how hard he worked to make all of this happen".

Rapper Pitbull sent his private plane to hurricane-ravaged Puerto Rico to transport cancer patients to the mainland USA for chemotherapy treatments. Beset by food, water and fuel shortages, Puerto Rico Governor Ricardo Rosselló issued a statement appealing for federal help for his "essentially devastated" island.

Barea, who is from Puerto Rico, set up a relief fund for Hurricane Maria victims with his wife, Puerto Rican actress and model Viviana Ortiz.
