FC Barcelona socials hacked and annocunce Angel Di Maria signing

The group OurMine went on to post the news of the club announcing the signing of Angel di Maria from PSG and later urged Barcelona to contact them apparently for account recovery.

Unsurprisingly, conspiracy theories abounded immediately after the hack, which came shortly after Barcelona announced its plans to sue Neymar for allegedly breaching his contract with the club that he signed a year ago.

It was quickly revealed that it had been a hoax, however, and that the security group "OurMine" were behind the tweet.

"Our accounts have been hacked tonight".

The former Real Madrid and Manchester United star has emerged as a target for the Catalan club after they conceded defeat in their attempts to sign Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool.

Now, a hacker group has had fun at their expense after taking control of the Spanish giants' Twitter account in the early hours of Wednesday morning. We are working to fix it as soon as possible.

A day after the hacks, it remains unclear who hacked into Barcelona's social media accounts and for what objective.

During the hack attack, the hackers also tried to make hashtag #FCBHack trending on the Twitter platform.

It is seemingly hard for Barcelona to sign Di Maria from the French outfit, considering the sour nature in which Brazilian Neymar left - to join PSG. "#DiMariaFCB", the hijacked Twitter account wrote in a series of tweets.
