Three journalists resign from CNN after retracted article

The White House believes that the media should review anonymously sourced stories on alleged ties between Moscow and US President Donald Trump and retract the hoax ones, a spokesperson has said.

On Tuesday night, Stephen Colbert had some fun at the expense of CNN for their retracted story regarding Trump ally Anthony Scaramucci. Management basically said that they require more sources for a news story to go public than what the original editors actually had.

CNN issued a correction to President Donald Trump's Twitter tirade on Tuesday morning.

Citing CNN CEO Jeff Zucker, he said: "Just to give you some context, President Trump pulled out of the climate accords and for a day and a half we covered the climate accords".

The latest dispute is centred on a CNN story from last week that said the Senate Intelligence Committee was investigating Trump campaign adviser Anthony Scaramucci for allegedly meeting with a Russian investor days before Trump's inauguration.

The three journalists are Mr Thomas Frank, the writer of the story, Mr Eric Lichtblau, an editor in CNN's investigative unit, and Mr Lex Haris, who oversaw the unit, the network had earlier reported. The retracted CNN story was heavily dependent upon one anonymous source.

POTUS is still eyeing a victory - because everyone's favorite "fake news" outlet CNN was just forced to retract a story!

NYC subway station evacuated after smoke, loss of power
MTA officials said the train made an emergency stop, which damaged the tracks, signal switches and the wall next to the train. Hakim told reporters that it is "too early to tell" how this morning's derailment could impact the evening commute.

Bonifield's comments show that a proper investigation would encompass CNN's culture and would begin at the top. On Monday, CNN Senior White House Correspondent Jim Acosta complained on the air about White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer holding the daily briefing off-camera and barely calling on any CNN reporters for the past two weeks, while regularly calling on a Fox reporter. "Ratings way down!" Trump also took shots at other so-called "fake news" purveyors.

The resignations are a sign of the stakes for CNN.

Scaramucci, who had been said to be under consideration for a post in the administration, accepted the apology on Twitter. "As Executive Editor of that team, I have resigned", Haris said in a statement.

Bonifield goes on to say the Russian Federation narrative is "good for business" and that for CNN the driving factor is ratings.

The release of the embarrassing video comes after another high-profile fake news flop at the network.

The CNN story was about a supposed investigation into a pre-inaugural meeting between a Trump associate and the head of a Russian investment fund.
