Susan Rice Denies Playing Politics With Unmasking Requests

"This suggestion that former Obama national security adviser Susan Rice improperly unmasked the identity of Trump associates is part of what the president calls a crooked scheme", Cuomo said.

"This is not anything political as has been alleged", Rice said.

"I was surprised to see reports of Chairman Nunes on that count today", Rice said. The fact is if, whether we're talking about Russian Federation or any other topic, if I saw an intelligence report that looked potentially significant, and understand by definition, if it is being provided to me, it is significant.

Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky) has demanded that former President Barack Obama's National Security Advisor Susan Rice must testify before Congress on allegation that she ordered USA intelligence agencies to produce "detailed spreadsheets" of phone calls involving Donald Trump and his aides when he was running for president. Americans who are caught up in incidental surveillance in foreign intelligence gatherings are not supposed to have their names revealed, unless this would be relevant to the actual foreign intelligence. However, senior national security officials can request the identities of the Americans if that helps understand the intelligence better.

It is illegal to leak classified information.

Rice became a favorite target of conservatives after the 2012 attacks on a USA compound in Benghazi, Libya, when she was sent out to do television interviews with talking points about the attacks that later proved to be wrong. Republican investigators in Congress certainly are unlikely to let the matter end there, however. But she noted a request is not automatically granted, even to her.

In an interview on MSNBC's "Andrea Mitchell Reports", Rice was asked to address allegations that she had used US intelligence for political purposes by unmasking certain names of Americans.

Rose to miss remainder of season
As New York faces a rebuild, though, Rose's injury history will likely cause the Knicks to cut ties with him this offseason. Rose tore his meniscus in 2013, part of a laundry list of injuries that have derailed his career. "I'll be a free agent".

The Obama administration hasn't denied that Rice requested the unmasking of identities in an intelligence report that came from eavesdropping on foreign parties. He is the author of "Peacekeeping Fiascos of the 1990s: Causes, Solutions and U.S. Interests" (Praeger, May 30, 2002).

Early Tuesday, Trump retweeted a report alleging Rice had ordered the compilation of "spreadsheets" detailing phone conversations between Trump associates and foreign officials intercepted by USA intelligence agencies.

But it was the intelligence community that would ultimately determine whether she could access that information, she added.

Both the House and Senate intelligence committees and the FBI are investigating alleged Kremlin interference in the U.S. election and whether there is any evidence of collusion between Trump officials and Moscow operatives.

Rice appeared on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox News, and CNN and regurgitated talking points purporting that the protests that had erupted "spontaneously" near two USA government facilities in Benghazi, Libya and were a result of a "hateful video" that was offensive to Islam.

As Monday morning dawned, several media outlets broke a story that gave new life to the ongoing political saga surrounding President Trump's allegations that the Obama administration had "spied" on him (as well as his campaign and transition teams).

House Intelligence Committee Chair Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., previously said he was concerned that former Trump campaign associates were named in intelligence documents about the federal government's investigation into Russia's meddling in the 2016 election.
