One Victim in Germany's Heidelberg Ramming Attack Dies

Police in Heidelberg, Germany, shot and seriously injured a man Saturday after the man hit three people with a vehicle.

Security forces shot at the driver before emergency teams transported them to hospital.

Police shot and injured the man, who was armed with a knife, after a brief standoff.

"There are no indications of a terrorist background", police spokesman David Faulhaber told reporters. Some reports say that the auto was a rental vehicle.

The suspect fled and was then found by a police patrol.
