Jets Coach Bowles Hospitalized, Didn't Travel with Team

Bowles was admitted to a hospital with an undisclosed illness on Friday and did not accompany the team to Foxborough.

Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall said the team was initially very concerned about Bowles, but felt inspired by his presence on the sideline Saturday, even though the Jets obviously didn't play inspired, successful football.

Jets general manager Mike Maccagnan visited Bowles in the hospital while Caldwell ran the practice walk-through. And in the end, the Jets didn't give much of a fight in a 41-3 loss at Gillette Stadium on Christmas Eve.

This is the second time this calendar year Bowles has had a medical issue, as he had a benign mass removed from his throat in February.
