Reviews Paint PS4 Pro As Notable Improvement On Successful Sony Console

The new "Uncharted 4" update not only adds 4K support for the PlayStation 4 Pro, but also allows the game to have handsome HDR graphics.

The Sharefactory update should be rolling out to all PlayStation 4 owners today, although only PS4 Pro owners will be able to take advantage of the 4K photo feature. The Sony PS4 Pro joined by the less exciting new PlayStation 4 Slim.

Sony is about to release a new version this year, in 2016, for the second time of its PlayStation 4 game console.

A host of high-end games, including the new Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Battlefield 1 and Federation Internationale de Football Association 17 will be available from launch using the new imaging technology - which will be available as a software download to Pro buyers, Sony said.

The PS4 Pro will be released a few hours from now. It's worth noting, however, that the game's PlayStation VR Version, Rush of Blood, will have improved graphics when played on the new console. The YouTube app for the PS4 is also being updated to support 4K content. Sony has not announced if or when it intends to bring 4K support to PlayStation Vue, its OTT-TV service.

Answering a question about The Last of Us Remastered's PS4 Pro support, Lowe confirmed that you'll have to set the 30fps or 60fps option in the Display setting. However, owning a PlayStation 4 Pro is better still.

The PS4 Pro has an RRP of NZ$639.95 while the standard PS4 will continue to sell at NZ$489.95.

For now, PlayStation 4 players who want to play PSVR games are not really missing much. As you select each category, you'll see how much free space will remain on the PS4 Pro once the proposed data transfer is complete.
